book was the first book I read on the topics of guides. The idea of guides was not new to me; I had heard of all kinds of guides, from angels to animal spirits.
I find this topic fascinating but I never new how to get in touch with these guides. In this book the author has given directions on how to do this, and the directions are given in such a way that I was able to follow them with success.
The book is divided into six sections, each building on the previous, providing a cautious and gentle guide into the world of the. At the end of each chapter there are suggested exercises you should do to experience rather than just read about this subject.
The first section is an introduction to the world of spirit, and to the fact that everything around us has a spirit. We practice at recognizing the spirits in the creatures around us and get to know the typical characteristics of our own spirit. We learn how to nourish it and start listening to it.
The second section focuses on angels which are our first guides. The author talks about our guardian angle. We all have one angle that is our personal angle following us from birth till death. Then she goes on to talk about the arch angles which are always there for us when we call on them, and the other angles always ready to help us with life’s small and large challenges.
In the third section the author goes into how we can get in touch with the spirits. We learn about the different types of spirits, where they come from and what they can and can not do for us. Then we are presented with instructions on how to make the contact with these subtle energies. We are also given instructions on how to make the contact trough writing to the guides and how to practise on actually seeing them.
Section four gives us more detailed information about the different types of guides. We learn about nature spirits, scouts,, teachers, animal guides, joyful guides, light guides, and we also learn about negative energies and how to avoid them.
The fifth section teaches us ways to work directly with the guides and how to recognise their subtle hints. One of the most common ways they communicate with us is trough inspiration. The guides are often the once giving us a thought of inspiration; an impulse to do something new which gives our life another direction. We are also encouraged to philosophy a bit over the role we give our guides and which role they should not have.
The sixth and last section talks about how to live our lives guided by the spirits. It tells us how our own highest spirit is the most important guide. All the other guides are there to support this highest spirit which is the voice of your true self.
The most difficult thing, I find, is to actually trust my own sensations and my own intuition because the energy is so subtle you can easily ignore it. It is also not easy to accept and follow the advice you get when the advice you get is not the advice you want to hear. This is an experience all of us have to make and hopefully learn from.
For me it is also a challenge to stay with it. There are so many things I want to learn and do and experience. You need to practice regularly to keep the link to this dimension and that requires a daily commitment. However I think the benefits you receive are well worth the time you have to put in.
